The brief for this project was to create a series of photo realistic CGI still images of a pair of luxury Italian shoes. We needed to demonstrate the shoes using different material types as seen in the real world.

Mixing photogrammetry and 3d scanning, we created a highly detailed base mesh to work from which we then optimised to create a clean and useable model.

Stitches and stitch holes of varying sizes we’re created and placed separately, further enhancing the realism.

Realistic leather and suede materials were setup and applied to the model.

Studio scene and lighting was then setup and final shots rendered.

The benefits to the client include quick and efficient updates of new material types or colours. The studio scene including cameras and lighting can also be adjusted to suit the client’s vision with ease. This prevents the need to have costly physical studios setup and camera crews on site. 

CGI brings consistency of results due to the nature of using digital studios and lighting which aren’t affected by the real world.
